I don’t trust anyone over 25… Never have.
This book is pretty great, some of the tech seems a bit squishy but overall the book is a fun read. I am going to pass the book onto Carter when I am done. He is ahead of me on books read for the year… Damn It.

Here is the first pic of Viggo Mortensen and Kodi Smit-McPhee in Cormac McCarthy’s The Road. I am looking forward to the movie, but I can imagine it will be hard to come up with something anywhere close to the book. The picture does capture some of the bleakness of the situation though.
I believe they are wrapping up principle photography in Oregon right now. Using the grey, overcast Oregon coast for the final scenes in the movie. I think some of it was shot around Astoria. That location has some real film history – Kindergarten Cop and Goonies. Hmmmm.

I think this is a pretty good photo. I took it on the last turn of a game of Risk Carter and I were playing this weekend. Carter just crushed me, right from the beginning. On the last turn I had two troops on two different planets. Yuck
I boosted the colors a little, but the DOF is all real.

Someone emailed this to me today. While I hate spammed out joke mails, this is pretty funny.

The Petersons love a couple of prime time tv shows. The Office and Heroes. Someone on the interweb hooked us up with both. Check it!

I went to the Emerald City Comic-Con this weekend. We had a busy weekend – Claire’s Birthday Pony Party on Saturday and Mothers day on Sunday. Somehow I was able to escape for a couple hours on both Saturday and Sunday and wander the Con.
I realized that if you can identify comic book writers and artists by sight you are probably a nerd. I got autographed books from Rick Remender and Robert Kirkman. I also picked up a page of original art from the Powers comic by Michael Avon Oeming. I think I will put that up in the office. There are a few pics on Flickr. Click through to check ‘em.

Claire wanted to have a horse party this year. You only turn 6 once, so Vickie called around and got 2 ponies to come and give rides to the kids. It was pretty fun. Much Success.

speaking of that ending, just came across this….
2010: Iron Man sequel, April 30th release.
2010: Thor, June 4th (directed by Matthew Vaughn, of Layer Cake) very nice!
2011: The First Avenger: Captain America, May 6th
2011: The Avengers, July release (featuring all of the above characters, plus the Hulk; Zak Penn to write)
source: Variety
marvel busted a nut!
Tim definitely has a way with the words.

If you weren’t one of the people who drove Iron Man to that crazy number you should go check it out. We had a impromptu "Bring Your Son To Work Day" on Friday – Meaning Carter skipped school, and I ditched a couple of meetings and we went to a movie. Both of us thought it was the best Comic Book based movie we had seen. Better than Batman Begins, Spiderman or X-Men. Certainly better than Fantastic Four or the Hulk. The movie is getting a 94% positive on RottenTomatoes. That is a crazy good number for any movie, but a superhero flick? Crazy Go Nuts. Best reviewed movie of the year so far.
If you do go make sure you stay till the Very End. There is a cameo that I was pretty sure would be there. Samuel L Jackson as Nick Fury. I have been reading the Ultimates for a few years and The Ultimates version of Nick Fury is based on Jackson. He signed away his likeness. He makes a reference to starting up an Avengers Program… That would be crazy. I can’t imagine enough money or stars ready to do a Avengers movie, but they threw it out there.
Ultimate Nick Fury

Someone took this in the theater and posted it on flickr.
