I have been playing with StumbleUpon and have found a few cool links. StumbleUpon is sorta a great big memepool, but more "roll the dice" style. Anyway, I found this image linked through StumbleUpon and think its pretty cool. There are actually a lot more blank spots than i would have expected. We really need to do something about then… Gets get some lights on in Africa and Australia.

Finished the newest Chuck Palahniuk and Cory Doctorow books recently. Snuff is fun little Porn book, Little Brother is a young adult Tech / Espionage book.
Snuff was full of great little factiods about Hollywood Stars, Porn Stars and Skin care. I mentioned to someone that I would have liked the book better if Palahniuk had left out all the characters completely. A handy little fact book about Starlets gargling crushed egg shells and celebrity deaths would have been more interesting.
Little Brother was pretty good, and I think it would actually be great for the intended audience (young adult)… Some of the tech stuff in the book was interesting and could get kids interested in computers for more than just Half Life and YouTube. Little Brother centers on a kid who gets on the wrong side of the Department of Homeland Security and how civil rights can be crushed in the name of public safety. I think there is a lot of oversimplification of the issues but the book was a quick fun read.
I am now reading The World Without Us by Alan Weisman. It is about Earth if Humans just disappeared entirely. How long would it take for all traces of man to disappear. Neato.
Read!

I think Fincher and Jonze have some sort of producer credits on this, with Tarsem Singh at the directors chair. Tarsem directed the R.E.M. video for Losing My Religion. The trailer sort of looks like a Guillermo Del Toro movie, but in a cleaner world… equally as bizarre, just cleaner.

Robert Downey Jr. looks great. and a couple of the Jack Black scenes look pretty funny as well. I’m not usually too into comedies, but this looks pretty funny. I have been looking forward to this movie as it is… But now… Damn. I just can’t wait.

I have been cleaning out the garage for the last couple of days. I realized that i have 3 recievers, several CD players, Tons of Speakers, etc etc etc… I hooked up a AdCom power amp, a Carver preamp, a sony CD player and some Polk Audio speakers. I still had a ton of other stuff so I asked Carter if he wanted a stereo for his room, and he say’s to me… Get this, he says… “What’s a stereo?”
So, it’s not that we don’t listen to music. We listen to music constantly. We have about 800 cd’s ripped onto the computer, we have an Ipod, a Zune, a Creative Zen, and a bunch older mp3 players. Every computer in the house is networked, so the media is everywhere. When we buy a new CD, we pop it into the computer and rip it. The cd then goes into storage.
I realized Carter has never seen a record player or a typewriter or a dictionary or encyclopedia in book form. But, damn, he hasn’t seen a Stereo. No kidding. How old are you feeling?
