“Hey Dad, What’s A Stereo?” Really? Yeah. Really.

I have been cleaning out the garage for the last couple of days.  I realized that i have 3 recievers, several CD players, Tons of Speakers, etc etc etc…  I hooked up a AdCom power amp, a Carver preamp, a sony CD player and some Polk Audio speakers.  I still had a ton of other stuff so I asked Carter if he wanted a stereo for his room, and he say’s to me…  Get this, he says…  “What’s a stereo?”

So, it’s not that we don’t listen to music.  We listen to music constantly.  We have about 800 cd’s ripped onto the computer, we have an Ipod, a Zune, a Creative Zen, and a bunch older mp3 players.  Every computer in the house is networked, so the media is everywhere.  When we buy a new CD, we pop it into the computer and rip it.  The cd then goes into storage.

I realized Carter has never seen a record player or a typewriter or a dictionary or encyclopedia in book form.  But, damn, he hasn’t seen a Stereo.  No kidding.  How old are you feeling?
